Another Filipino-Edmontonian runs for Councilor

Another Filipino-Edmontonian has joined the political race and set his eyes for a City Council seat to represent Ward 5.

Philippine-born and Grant McEwan graduate Allan Santos is a City of Edmonton transit operator for the last six years, volunteer assistant parish manager of hockey operations for Good Shepherd Hockey and served as volunteer coach for various sports events.

In his official website, AllanSantos.ca, the Filipino-Edmontonian believes that he is the best candidate to represent Ward 5 because of his love for Edmonton and his business experience in the private sector, public service work with the Government of Alberta and the City of Edmonton.

Santos, if elected on October 21, will work on accountability from city managers and departments, push for funding increase from provincial and federal governments for the city, to prioritize the maintenance of infrastructure and roads, work with the community to reduce and prevent crime, improve basic services for transit, police, fire and EMS, promote small business and entrepreneurship as well as attract and sustain new business enterprises.(pinoy edmonton news)
