Megan Lynn Young of the Philippines won the Miss World 2013 title, besting 126 other contestants, in Indonesia today.
The 23-year-old De La Salle University College of St.Benilde senior and national ambassador for peace reportedly came up too with a “winning answer” when asked why should she become Miss World.
She responded by saying, in part, “I treasure a core value of humanity and that guides people why they act the way they do. I will use this to show other people how they can understand each other…as one, we can help society.”
Marine Lorphelin of France finished first runner-up and Naa Okailey Shooter of Ghana was second runner-up.
Brazil’s Sancler Frantz, Spain’s Elena Ibarbia and Gibraltar’s Maroua Kharbouch made it to the top six.
Indonesia’s Vania Larissa, Jamaica’s Gina Hargitay, England’s Kirsty Heslewood, Nepal’s Ishani Shrestha and Australia’s Erin Holland barged in to the top 10.
Canada’s Camille Munro was included in the top 20.(pinoy edmonton news)
