Bohol’s first beauty queen to represent the country to the Ms.World 2006 competition, Anna Maris Igpit is currently at the forefront raising awareness and helping raise funds to help earthquake victims in Bohol.
The native of Panglao, Bohol has just launched “Oplan Bangon Bohol” on Facebook for Filipinos, local and abroad, to know where to send their donations.
Igpit’s work has drawn the support of Kapuso Foundation, a charitable organization of Philippine news giant GMA TV Network, including British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) which has given her a chance to go on air with British tourist Robert Poole to report on the aftermath of the 7.2 –magnitude earthquake that hit the top tourist destination island on Tuesday.
Poole and Igpit started using social media to organize rescue and relief operations in Bohol that saw the outpouring support of Boholanos from various parts of the Philippines and abroad.
“Oplan Bangon Bohol” fund-raising efforts in Hong Kong have also started through Father Charlton Jau Haau Jung.(pinoy edmonton news)
