For Typhoon Haiyan victims: D&P, K of C call for support

The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has started its support relief efforts in the Philippines recently hit by super typhoon Haiyan.

Development and Peace’s main partner in the Philippines is Caritas Nassa which has already coordinated the distribution of food and shelter for the victims.

Donations made to Development and Peace are eligible for the matching fund program announced by the Canadian government until December 9.

Stephen Dufresne, chair of the D&P Edmonton Archiodesan Council, made the announcement too to members of the Knights of Columbus and Columbus Club led by chapter president Br.Marvin Sigfuson.

Chapter secretary Br.Gregory Amerongen has asked friends also to network with the Edmonton Filipino community to be part of the efforts.(pinoy edmonton news with Alex Donado)
