The death of American actor Paul Walker on November 30 has shocked and saddened the Filipino community.
Walker’s foundation, Reach Out Worldwide (roww.org), which has been helping victims of typhoon Haiyan (super typhoon Yolanda) in the Philippines confirmed on FB that the “Fast and Furious” actor died in a vehicular accident.
“It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news. Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences,” ROWW announced.
Lia San Sebastian on FB posted that “Words cannot express the sadness we feel right now for losing a Great person with a Great Heart, in behalf of the people of the Philippines we would like to extend our deepest sympathy and prayers to Paul’s families and friends.”
“We have been truly blessed by this Reach Out Worldwide Organization, and for that, we would like to thank Paul Walker for organizing a group of heroic people doing selfless great things to those in need, we know that you are now happy in the hands of God, we love you so much. And for all the members, WE SALUTE YOU! hope you would continue this legacy of yours… Godspeed!,” San Sebastian added.
ROWW reported on its website that it has joined forces with Waves for Water to provide approximately 20,000 people access to clean water and a medical support team went to Baybay, Paolo and Tanauan, Tabontabon where they have been treating more than 100 victims a day.(pinoy edmonton news)
