Immunization clinics re-open Jan.3, two deaths linked to H1N1

Alberta Health Services (AHS) will be re-opening several influenza immunization clinics starting on Friday in the wake of reports of two Albertans whose deaths were linked to the H1N1 disease.

Dr.James Talbot of the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health tweeted that more flu shot clinics have been added in Edmonton and Calgary.

Bonnie Doon Health and Northgate Health Centres will be opening first on Friday, January 3, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while other public health centres will be available for those who have not yet received a flu shot on various dates this month.

Westmount Mall (Woodcroft Public Health Centre), West Jasper Place Health Centre and Twin Brooks Health Centre simultaneously open on January 7 .

Rutherford Health Centre, Mill Woods Health Centre and East Edmonton Health Centre start on Monday, January 6 while Northeast Community Health Centre follows on January 9, a Thursday.

CBC reported that there were two deaths linked to the H1N1 disease including 128 confirmed cases in Edmonton.(pinoy edmonton news)
