CRA video series to teach newcomers on tax system; Filipino Support sets volunteer tax preparation clinics starting March 22

Newcomers to Canada can learn about the Canadian Tax System through Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) video series.

The eight-segment video presentation by Kathleen Sinclair will give valuable information to immigrants about the tax system as well as the rights and responsibilities of a taxpayer.

Meanwhile, the Filipino Support Services Society can also help newcomers with their tax preparation.

The clinic dates are on March 22, April 5 and 19 at Westlawn Court Senior’s Complex, 9908 165 Street, Edmonton, AB T6C 0Y7.

Another venue set by the Filipino Support Services Society is at 8501 82 Avenue, Lighthouse Basement, Southside Campus, Edmonton, AB T6C 0Y7 for March 22 and 29, April 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The CRA announced that tax return for 2013 can be filed on or before April 30, 2014.(pinoy edmonton news)
