Women’s Advocacy Voice of Edmonton Announces Members

May 15, 2014
City Council has appointed members of the Women’s Advocacy Voice of Edmonton (WAVE), the City’s first women’s advisory group.
With a focus on three key areas: engagement through networking, leadership through mentorship and learning from best practices, WAVE will work to ensure women’s rights, issues and opinions are represented fairly and equally from every perspective, including social, cultural, physical and occupational.
“The years of experience these women bring in community building, education, advocacy and business is simply astonishing,” said Councillor Bev Esslinger, a sponsor of Council’s Women’s Initiative. “They represent the wonderful diversity of Edmonton’s women, and I know that Edmonton will benefit greatly from their input on civic policy, projects and issues.”
