Police attempt to reunite hundreds of pieces of jewelry with owners

Police are attempting to re-unite hundreds of pieces of stolen jewelry, including a medal from the First World War, seized during a March 26th drug investigation at a licensed establishment near 95 Avenue and 87 Street.

The three-month EPS investigation into alleged drug trafficking culminated in the arrest of two owners of the south side neighbourhood licensed establishment. During their investigation, however, officers also seized hundreds of pieces of jewelry.

“We seized hundreds of pieces of jewellery during our investigation, and we would like to reunite them with their rightful owners,” said EPS Const. Ahmad Ghulom Sakhi.  “There are also pieces that might have important sentimental value to an individual or family, including historic coins and a medal from the First World War.”

Other unique pieces of jewelry seized include a historic pocket watch, a gold chain with a pendant of the Virgin Mary, and a gold ring designed in the shape of a horse’s head (see attached photos below).

If you recognize any of these pieces of jewelry or would like to inquire about the other pieces, you are encouraged to visit the EPS Pinterest website at:www.pinterest.com/edmontonpolice. Potential owners of the jewelry will be required to present sufficient proof of ownership, either through a stolen property police report, photo(s) of the piece of jewelry or a receipt of purchase.
