The Council of Edmonton Filipino Associations (CEFA), in partnership with Crosstown Auto Centre and The Filipino Connection, has prepared a cultural presentation to provide a festive atmosphere to the 116th Philippine Independence Day celebration on June 14 in Edmonton City, Alberta Province.
The presentation will be done following the 10 a.m. inter-faith mass at the Edmonton City Hall and again at 6 p.m. at the Sutton Place Hotel, venue of the gala night. Organizers request the attendees to wear the country’s national attire, the Barong for men and Filipiniana for women.
CEFA’s Marjorie Newman announced that those attending the gala night must make sure that they have purchased the tickets adding that the event will also serve as a fund-raising activity of their association.
The morning celebration, though, will cost nothing for the participants who will enjoy a free lunch and raffle draw courtesy of sponsors like Max’s Restaurant, which recently opened its doors to Filipino-Albertans, Sun Life Financial, Sunfreight Cargo, Prestige Vision Center, Driver’s, Dr.Nimrod G. Montano and Associates and Fly Friendly Travel and Tours.
