News Release
Information technology innovation focus of meetings with global experts
Alberta will be positioned as a strategic partner to global information technology (IT) leaders at meetings in southern California.
Service Alberta Minister Doug Griffiths will spend three days meeting with Silicon Valley companies and IT executives from around the globe to explore future partnerships with Alberta. He will be in San Francisco and San Jose from June 15 to 18.
“This is an exciting opportunity to bring global expertise back to Alberta. We can also build on work already underway to develop strategic partnerships between Alberta and world leaders in IT.”
Presentations and discussions with senior officials from a number of technology research and innovation companies will address cloud services, cyber security, big data analysis and government service innovation.
Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta’s resources to ensure we’re able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
