Max’s Restaurant in Edmonton is joining other Max’s branches all over the world in celebrating 69 years of delivering the best of the Philippine cuisine.

Marketing coordinator Allin Posadas said the anniversary is on October 21 at the Nexus Business Park, 11650 142 Street NW. “We will have a 50 percent discount for our Sarap to the Bones Fried Chicken,” said Posadas during the weekly Himig Pinoy Radio Show on CKER 101.7 World FM hosted by Rolan Latorre, Patrick and Mark on Sunday night.

Max’s Restaurant has branches in Glendale, Milpitas, Puente Hills, South San Francisco, Vallejo in California, Dillingham and Waipahu in Hawaii, Las Vegas in Nevada, Jersey City in New Jersey and in Vancouver, Toronto in Canada.

Max’s Restaurant opened its third Canada branch in Edmonton in June to bring not only the best Filipino cuisine but a big part of home. Posadas said their restaurant has not only brought the Filipino cuisine to Albertans but the best service, the Filipino way.

Aside from the North America operations, Max’s Restaurant has branches in the Middle East. In the Philippines, it has 143 branches.

Maximo Gimenez, wife Mercedes, sister-in-law Felipe, niece Ruby and her husband Claro started the business in 1945 and named it “Max’s”, Maximo’s nickname.

Franchisees Nelson and Estrella Rodriguez run the restaurant in Edmonton serving Filipino-Albertans and other Albertans from Monday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.(pinoy edmonton news)
