Edmonton Police Service launches mobile app
The Edmonton Police Service has launched a new app for mobile devices that allows users to report a crime, and access news, social media activity and alerts from the EPS.
The EPS mobile app features:
- Media releases
- Alerts – will be sent through push notifications
- Online crime reporting
- Police station locations
- Videos
- Recruiting information
- Success Stories
- Crime files
“The app brings communication from the EPS into one user-friendly platform,” says Deputy Chief Brian Simpson of the Community Policing Bureau. “We’re able to provide information to the public about emergency situations and safety concerns in the city, and connect with app users in a comprehensive, interactive way.”
A user’s location will not be tracked over the mobile app when the “Locate a Police Station” function is used.
