Flags lowered to honour fallen Canadian soldiers

In recognition of the tragic loss of Canadian Forces soldiers in recent attacks in Ottawa and Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Quebec, the flags at the Alberta Legislature will fly at half mast on October 23 and 24.

Premier Jim Prentice has also directed that the flags be lowered to half-mast at Government House in Edmonton, McDougall Centre in Calgary, the Alberta Sheriff’s Training Academy in Edmonton and at provincial correctional facilities across Alberta.

The half-masting will take place from sunrise on Thursday, October 23 to sunset on Friday, October 24.
