Homicide detectives take over Missing Person investigation
It’s been several weeks since the parents of Gamteysa Muhamed last saw their 21-year-old son.
Muhamed was last seen on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, walking through the north-end neighbourhood of Dickinsfield, near 146 Avenue and 72 Street. Family members believe Muhamed left his residence that afternoon to watch a football game with some friends and never returned.
EPS Homicide Section is now overseeing the investigation. Detectives believe that Mr. Muhamed was involved in some high risk behaviors that may have contributed to his disappearance. His sudden disappearance has left the family in shock and searching for answers.
Muhamed (see photo below) is described as having a medium brown complexion and is six feet tall and 185 pounds. He has short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt with a white zipper and blue jeans, prior to his disappearance. Investigators are encouraging residents in and around the Greater Edmonton area to walk their properties before inclement winter weather arrives and snow begins to accumulate.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Gamteysa Muhamed is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online atwww.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
