Suspicious death in west Edmonton deemed homicide
The Edmonton Police Service has confirmed the suspicious death over the weekend of Phillip Mooney, 58, as the 23rd homicide of 2014.
The Edmonton Medical Examiner cannot release the cause of death until toxicology results are known.
Homicide detectives continue to investigate. No charges have been laid and police are not looking for any other suspects at this time.
The City of Edmonton had 24 homicides at this time in 2013.
