Premier Prentice to discuss Alberta energy and market access in Texas

Premier Jim Prentice will travel to Houston to meet with energy executives and participate in an event celebrating Canada’s contribution to energy security.

While in Texas, Premier Prentice will meet with oil and gas executives to discuss the current economics of the energy sector.

“Our government is focused on enhancing market access for our resources. Increased access to Alberta oil provides Canadians and Americans with jobs while delivering energy security to the United States from a dependable and environmentally responsible resource.”

Premier Prentice will also address the province’s commitment to responsible energy development, including clean energy innovation and the need to work together on technological advances.

The Premier remains committed to looking at ways to boost market access and create important economic ties, while planning for the fiscal realities facing the province.
