Police services investigating potential serial robber
The Edmonton Police Service is releasing surveillance images of a male suspect they believe is responsible for several robberies at financial institutions in three separate jurisdictions.
The first robbery occurred at a financial institution located in southwest Edmonton near 42 Avenue and Calgary Trail at approximately 12:20 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2015. It was reported to police that the male suspect produced a firearm and demanded cash from two bank Customer Service Representatives. The tellers complied with the demand for money, before the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.
On Jan. 3, 2015, police believe the same male suspect robbed a financial institution located in the Bower Place Shopping Centre in Red Deer. At approximately 2:30 pm that Saturday, the Red Deer RCMP received a report that a man had entered the ATB and demanded money from a cashier while displaying a firearm. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money
Edmonton Police Service Robbery Section detectives believe the same male suspect struck again on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at a financial institution in Camrose. It was reported to Camrose RCMP, a male suspect entered a financial institution near 73 Street and 48 Avenue in that city, at approximately 12:27 p.m.
The male suspect demanded money from an employee at gunpoint, before fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. In each incident, the suspect covered his face with a balaclava.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, early to mid-40’s, 5’5” to 5’8” in height with a thin build. He has brown to grey coarse eye brows, wears silver-framed reflective glasses and speaks with a raspy voice. He was last seen wearing a black and white toque, black-zippered coat and a black-zippered hoodie underneath with black and white sneakers.
Robbery investigators are releasing several surveillance images (see below) of the male suspect, in an attempt to solicit the public’s assistance.
