Police and Fire Cadets Swap It Up for a Day
The first swap with Edmonton Police Service Cadets and Fire Rescue Services Cadets took place early January 2015.
This was when police cadets travelled to the fire training centre to see what it was like to be a fireman for day. Both fire and police cadets were involved in several activities and team building challenges, all designed to develop and foster good leadership.
This was the first of many classes that will cross train, both fire and police cadets, so that each group has a greater respect and understanding of all aspects of emergency services.
Another training swap meet is planned for May 2015; when Calgary police and fire cadets will travel to Edmonton to participate in a weekend challenge with Edmonton fire and police cadets.
The Edmonton Police Service Cadet Program challenges those youth interested in law enforcement through opportunities for skill enhancement, community service and leadership.
