“On behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, I extend my profound appreciation to the Filipino Community of British Columbia, Alberta, the Yukon and Northwest Territories, for coming out in big numbers to participate in the recent event to welcome and meet His Excellency, President Benigno S. Aquino III.
Such show of unity and solidarity behind the Philippine flag was both poignant and inspiring, as it rekindled our deep sense of Filipino patriotism. Your overwhelming presence and avid participation made the event a rousing success and an immensely meaningful and memorable experience for everyone.
Our special thanks go to the countless volunteers who helped out in all aspects – security, protocol, seating, registration, program, entertainment, refreshments, and everything else that was needed to ensure the event’s success.
I was informed that the President was very pleased by his brief visit to Vancouver. The credit goes to all of you who showed warmth and hospitality – in the great Filipino way. Maraming salamat po! Mabuhay!”
