The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, today issued the following statement marking Global Entrepreneurship Week, which runs from November 16 to 22, 2015:

“Canadian entrepreneurs are extraordinary individuals who have the crucial determination and vision to transform their ideas into goods and services, which in turn helps to grow our middle class.

“Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates the ingenuity and perseverance of our entrepreneurs. This week offers a broad range of events across the country focused on encouraging Canadian business people to enter into foreign markets.

“The Government of Canada will invest now to help Canadian entrepreneurs with international expansion by supporting innovation and skills training, as well as reducing the federal small business tax rate. We will work to ensure businesses and entrepreneurs can succeed, grow, and innovate.

“This year’s Global Entrepreneur Week celebrations, hosted by Futurpreneur Canada, include a variety of events across the country that help ambitious business people connect with potential collaborators, mentors, and investors on the world stage.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada, I wish all Canadian entrepreneurs a great week, and thank them for using their skills and energy to drive Canadian innovation and global economic competition.”
