Record number of candidates running to represent Ward 12 in By-Election

On Monday, January 25, 2016, 32 candidates filed their nomination papers to run in the Ward 12 By-Election being held on Monday, February 22, 2016.

Candidates had until noon on January 26, 2016 to withdraw their nomination. The complete list of candidates and their contact information is available here.

“As of noon today, no candidate has withdrawn their nomination papers and there are no changes to the candidate list,” says Laura Kennedy, Returning Officer. “The 32 candidates are now listed on the ballot and will be part of Alberta’s election history.”

Election Day is Monday, February 22, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Advance Voting takes place from Monday, February 8th to 11th inclusive from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day at the Meadows Community Recreation Centre.

Special Ballots (Mail in Vote) applications can be made by calling 780-442-VOTE (8683) Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or online.
