The Philippine Consulate General’s Office in Calgary has warned the Filipino community of an “online job recruitment scam”.
In an advisory emailed to Pinoy Edmonton News today, the advisory stated that the “Philippine Consulate General wishes to inform Filipinos and Filipino-Canadians in Alberta and Saskatchewan that the Philippine Embassy in Ottawa has received an increasing number of verification requests from Filipino citizens in the Philippines about job offers in Canada from questionable employers and fictitious Canadian companies.”
