LRT closed morning of June 10 for signal testing

News Release
LRT closed morning of June 10 for signal testing

On Sunday, June 10, LRT service will be suspended to accommodate system-wide testing of the Thales signalling system. Replacement bus service will be in place from the start of service until noon. LRT service is scheduled to resume at noon.

This closure, one of several anticipated in the coming months, is required to accommodate Thales’ request to test its signalling system in the field. The City of Edmonton is working cooperatively with Thales so the testing can be completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner and during times that are least disruptive to transit users.

For customer convenience, Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) will have LRT replacement buses running every seven to eight minutes during the morning closure. Bus stops with red signs labelled “LRT Replacement” show where passengers can catch replacement bus service. Replacement service locations can be found here.

Customers are encouraged to plan ahead by checking service changes on takeETS.com/news or using real-time tools to view transit schedules.
