Nominate your traffic safety hero

News Release
Nominate your traffic safety hero

Know someone who has helped make our streets safer? Nominate them for the Community Traffic Safety Award. This City of Edmonton award recognizes community members who have contributed to traffic safety initiatives in their neighbourhoods, through their community leagues or as part of larger city traffic safety initiatives.

“There are many traffic safety heroes in our communities working for safer school zones, bike paths, pedestrian crossings and streets. We’d like to recognize their contribution to Vision Zero Edmonton,” said Councillor Bev Esslinger.

Nominate your traffic safety hero if they:
Demonstrate personal commitment to traffic safety
Support traffic safety initiatives to improve community quality of life
Have a history of involvement and leadership in traffic safety for a minimum of three years
Show their commitment to traffic safety in a non-paid or volunteer capacity

The Community Traffic Safety Award nomination deadline is April 30, 2019. Nomination forms can be found here. Award winners will be recognized at City Hall.

The long-term goal of Vision Zero Edmonton is to eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries.
