
Zambo school bags 2 gold, 1 silver in Indon choir competition

ZAMBOANGA CITY (Philippines News Agency) — The Cantamos Chorale of the Zamboanga City State Polytechnic College (ZCSPC) has bagged three medals, two gold and one silver, in the 4th North Sumatera International Choir Competition at Parapat, Lake Tabu, Indonesia.
The ZCSPC Cantamos Chorale bested the other 19 contestants in the Folklore and Mixed Choir Categories and bagged one gold medal each during the international competition held from August 27 to 31.
They also won the silver medal in the Church Music category.
Elmer Atilano, ZCSPC Cantamos Choral director, said the choir sang Ahibakle, Kruhay, and Yamko Ramber in Folklore category; Obar-Obar A Tambis, Esto Les Digo in Mixed Choir; and, My Life in You and Prayer of St. Francis in Church music category.
“Thank you so much God Almighty for this wonderful blessings you have given to us during the 4th North Sumatera International Choir Competition in Indonesia. This recognition is for all of you my dear Zamboangueños,” Atilano said.
The ZCSPC Cantomos Chorale saw action in the international competition upon invitation of a chorale director from Baguio City, who has links in Indonesia. (PNA)
