NDP Deputy Leader Sarah Hoffman made the following statement in response to news that Jason Kenney’s United Conservative Party is still selling “Best Summer Ever” hats while COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations soar:
“There are more than a thousand Albertans falling sick with COVID each day. Some of those Albertans will suffer life-changing consequences, and some of them will die.
“Our healthcare heroes are exhausted, and there are bed closures and cancelled surgeries across the province.
“Jason Kenney is insulting these Albertans by hawking his ridiculous $40 ‘Best Summer Ever’ hats. It’s disgusting. He should return the money and apologize immediately.”
