City invites input on Vision Zero street labs, River Valley planning, and pop-up dog parks
The City of Edmonton invites residents’ input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow our communities, establish government services and prepare our city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape their city.
Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:
Overlanders and Homesteader Neighbourhood Renewal. Until June 28, visit edmonton.ca/BuildingOverlandersHomesteader to review the options and tradeoffs proposed for the neighbourhood and fill out the online survey.
McKernan Street Lab. The City of Edmonton is exploring a Vision Zero Street Lab in McKernan after hearing about street safety concerns in the area. Vision Zero Street Labs use adaptable traffic calming measures to address traffic safety concerns such as unsafe speeds, shortcutting, and pedestrian safety. We would like to explore residents’ perspectives and gain insights through an in-person walk and roll audit, an online survey and an online map available at engaged.edmonton.ca/mckernanstreetlab until July 6.
Northmount Street Lab. We would like to explore residents’ perspectives and gain insights through an in-person walk and roll audit, an online survey and an online map available at engaged.edmonton.ca/northmountstreetlab until July 12.
Defining what Edmonton will look like in the future:
River Valley Planning Modernization. Share your thoughts on the future use and protection of our Ribbon of Green by joining a River Valley Planning Modernization engagement event. Phase 3 engagement runs until July 4. To take the survey, sign up for an engagement activity, or for more information, visit edmonton.ca/RibbonOfGreen.
The Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative. Edmontonians are invited to continue sharing feedback on the draft Zoning Bylaw until July 30 before the draft Zoning Bylaw is presented at a public hearing in October 2023. Visit engaged.edmonton.ca/ZoningBylawRenewal to share your thoughts by taking a short online survey, using the ‘Ideas’ tool or emailing zoningbylawrenewal@edmonton.ca.
Pop-up Dog Parks Program Phase 2 Survey. Share your feedback and perspectives about the temporary Pop-up Dog Park program by completing the Phase 2 survey. The survey will be open until October 1. Your feedback will be considered along with technical and operational requirements to evaluate the individual locations and the Pop-up Dog Park Program overall. Visit edmonton.ca/PopUpDogParks.
