95 Street closure for track rehabilitation work
Over the weekends of September 13 – 16 and 27 – 30, PCL, the City’s contractor, will perform planned LRT track rehabilitation work. This work will result in the closure of 95 Street between 105 and 106 Avenue. Local traffic access will be available from 103A Avenue to 105 Avenue and 106 Avenue to 107A Avenue.
The road will close from 7 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Monday in order to replace tracks. The shared-use path adjacent to the work area will remain open during the closures and flaggers will be present to assist pedestrians and cyclists through the area.
Route 5 northbound to Coliseum will detour via 95 Street onto 103A Avenue, 97 Street, 106 Avenue, then back on to 95 Street. This detour will run in reverse heading southbound on 95 Street towards Westmount. This detour will be in effect over both impacted weekends.
The following bus stops will be closed during the work:
1473 – 95 Street & 106 Avenue SB
1335 – 95 Street & 105 Avenue NB
1354 – 95 Street & 105 Avenue SB
1463 – 95 Street & 104 Avenue SB
1247 – 95 Street & 103A Avenue NB
Capital and Metro Line trains will continue to run on their normal weekend schedule. Riders are encouraged to plan their trips in advance at edmonton.ca/transit.
Regular LRT maintenance and renewal projects are an important part of providing a more reliable and efficient service. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while this project is completed.
