Government of Alberta Updates:
Ensure you and your family are protected
As children head back to school or begin a new season of homeschooling, now is a good time to make sure their immunizations are up to date. If even one child in a class is unprotected, measles can spread quickly, putting classmates, siblings and vulnerable community members at risk.
Measles remains one of the most contagious illnesses in the world, spreading through the air and remaining on surfaces for up to two hours.
The measles vaccine is safe and provides strong, long-lasting protection. Getting both doses is a simple but powerful way to help keep our homes, schools and neighbourhoods safe for everyone.
If youโre unsure about your or your childโs immunization status, call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 to check immunization records, ask questions and book an appointment.
