Annie Chua Frith seeks Edmonton City Council seat, bares platform

🌟 ANNIE CHUA-FRITH FOR CITY COUNCIL – WARD SSPOMITAPI 🌟

Leadership. Integrity. Community.

Dear friends and neighbors,

I’m thrilled to officially announce my candidacy for Edmonton City Council in Ward Sspomitapi. As a proud Filipino-Canadian, longtime Edmontonian, and passionate community advocate, I’m running because I believe our city deserves bold leadership rooted in compassion, accountability, and action.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of serving our community—whether as President of the Philippine Bayanihan Association, leading the naming of Mabuhay Park, mentoring youth, or delivering hampers during COVID-19. These experiences have deepened my love for our neighborhoods and strengthened my resolve to make real, lasting change.

💬 Why I’m Running

Because too often, decisions are made about us, not with us. I’m here to flip that script—to bring your voice into City Hall and ensure our policies reflect the values and needs of real families.

🛠️ My Platform Priorities

✔️ Affordability & Fair Taxes

No one should be taxed out of their home. I’ll fight for income-based relief, transparent budgeting, and smarter revenue solutions that respect your hard-earned money.

✔️ Public Safety & Crime Prevention

From better lighting and traffic calming to youth programs and community watch groups, I’ll champion safer streets and stronger neighborhoods.

✔️ Jobs & Economic Growth

I’ll support local businesses, advocate for fair wages, and push for job creation that lifts everyone.

✔️ Transit & Infrastructure

Reliable, affordable transit and well-maintained roads are essential. I’ll prioritize smart investments that improve daily life.

✔️ Community Projects & Parks

Let’s put the “community” back in community projects—with advisory panels, action grants, and volunteer mobilization to beautify and strengthen our shared spaces.

✔️ Healthcare & Mental Wellness

I’ll advocate for better access to health services and mental health support—because well-being is the foundation of a thriving city.

📣 Let’s Build a Better Edmonton—Together

I’m not just asking for your vote. I’m asking for your voice, your ideas, and your partnership. Let’s create a city that listens, includes, and delivers.

Maple, Tamarack, Aster community, I heard you with your concerns on train traffic and emergency response and rough alternate route. Silverberry residents, I heard your Algae blooming and odour issues on your stormwater pond.  Laurel community, I’m listening to your limited amenities and gathering spaces. Larkspur neighborhood, I heard your transit and accessibility services concerns.  Wildrose community, the lack of recreation facilities and gathering space. 17th Street widening and traffic concerns.  I can go on and on.  These are the main concerns that I will tackle in the City Council Chamber and will not stop until these are delivered.
