Candidate list now available for 2025 Edmonton Election
The list of candidates for the 2025 Edmonton Election is now available. A total of 140 individuals successfully filed nomination papers prior to today’s noon deadline:
13 Mayoral candidates (City of Edmonton)
81 Councillor candidates (City of Edmonton)
32 Edmonton Public School Board Trustee candidates
14 Edmonton Catholic School Board Trustee candidates
The nomination process is the final step to become an official candidate and appear on the ballot. Nominated candidates have until noon on September 23 to withdraw their nomination.
Voter information cards will be sent out in coming weeks to all registered electors and to residential addresses in Edmonton. It is not too late to register, registration can occur when you cast your ballot. Special ballot packages, which are available to eligible Edmontonians unable to vote in person at either Advance Vote or on Election Day, will soon be sent out or available for in-person pickup at the Edmonton Elections office.
