Parking ban Phase 2 (residential roadways) resumes this weekend

In an effort to urgently prioritize residential roadway clearing, the Phase 2 Parking Ban on residential roads will resume on Saturday, January 17, at 7 p.m. Doing so will enable snow and ice crews to expedite the completion of Priority 4 (residential) roadways.

The residential parking ban was intended to be paused for the weekend, allowing crews to focus on other aspects of snow and ice control operations, such as school zones, windrow pick-up and alley maintenance. Now, once the parking ban resumes on January 17, residential roadway clearing will continue 24 hours-a-day through to completion across Edmonton. Other operations will be prioritized once all residential roadways have been addressed.

To minimize disruption, neighbourhoods previously scheduled for clearing on January 19, 20 and 21 will proceed as planned. Some neighbourhoods that had not yet been scheduled for clearing will receive service on January 17 and 18.

While the City typically aims to notify neighbourhoods 24 hours in advance of service, areas being scheduled for January 17 and 18 will see compressed advanced notification. The City will provide as much notice as possible through the tools listed below, and appreciates the patience and understanding of residents as this work is advanced.
Residents subscribed to Service Notifications will receive an email or text message prior to the start of clearing at their location.
Temporary yellow signs, placed at major entrances to neighbourhoods, will indicate when the parking ban is in effect in that area.
Residents can view the Roadways Snow Clearing Map to see which roadways are scheduled, where crews are operating and which streets have been completed.
An address tool is available online as part of the Snow Clearing Schedule for residents to see when their location is scheduled for clearing.
Updated schedules will be reflected in the map and the address tool as soon as possible.

We ask Edmontonians to give crews space while they work. Maintain a safe distance from equipment and activity, residents may park on the street once crews depart the area and signage is removed.
Additional updates on residential roadway completion will be provided next week.
