Make an emergency plan  for kids

Teaching your children what to do during an emergency can reduce stress and save lives. Creating a household plan and preparing an emergency kit together can be a great way to get the conversation started.

The stress in a crisis can affect children in different ways. Remind them that if an emergency happens, someone will be there to help and there are people they can count on, like firefighters, police and emergency response workers.

Create an emergency contact list with contact information for trusted grown-ups that your children can call in case of a crisis.
