Work on Jasper Avenue resumes for 2026 construction season

Starting the week of April 7, construction will resume on Jasper Avenue between 117 Street and 121 Street for Stage 2 of the Imagine Jasper Avenue (Phase 2) project.

This work is part of a multi-year reconstruction of Jasper Avenue between 114 Street and 124 Street, building on improvements completed in earlier phases.

2026 construction details:
Full removal and reconstruction of the roadway and sidewalks between 117 Street and 121 Street.
Installation of new storm sewers, traffic signals and street lighting.
Upgraded landscaping, street furniture and pedestrian lighting.
Wider sidewalks to support businesses and movement through the area.
Construction will begin on the north side of Jasper Avenue, with work shifting to the south side later in the season. Work in this area is expected to be completed by late 2026, with Jasper Avenue reopening to full traffic capacity during the winter months.

Utility work will also take place between 121 Street and 124 Street throughout 2026, including water main upgrades and the relocation of underground power, gas and telecommunications infrastructure.

Traffic and access:
One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
Pedestrian access will be maintained, with detours in place where needed.
No on-street parking will be permitted between 117 Street and 121 Street during construction.
Access to businesses and properties will be maintained.
Emergency access will be maintained at all times.
The City thanks residents, businesses and commuters for their patience during construction.
