Alberta announces warranty on new homes built starting Feb.1

The Alberta government announced that every home built in the province will be protected under warranty starting February 1 this year.

alberta.ca said the New Home Buyer Protection Act “encourages even higher quality standards, making sure your new home stands the test of time”.

The new home warranty covers one year for labour and materials, two years for delivery and distribution systems, 5 years for building envelope protection and 10 years for major structural components.
