Neighbourhood Blading Cycle Begins Monday

News Release
Neighbourhood Blading Cycle Begins Monday

Following recent snowfall and a weekend forecast for warmer weather, City of Edmonton Roadway Maintenance crews will begin blading neighbourhood streets at 12:01am on Monday March 10, 2014.

Although there is no parking ban in place for blading in residential areas, the City asks citizens to move their vehicles or park off-street wherever possible so that trucks can blade from curb to curb on neighbourhood streets. Residents are reminded that while windrows are kept to a maximum 30-centimetre height in front of driveways, curbside windrows are not removed.

Blading is a 24-hour, around the clock operation. Crews may be in neighbourhoods at any time on the date indicated on the schedule (from midnight to midnight). To use the new online blading schedule, visit edmonton.ca/snowremoval.

Please note that depending on the amount of ice and snow in some areas and delays caused by vehicles parked on the streets, the schedule is subject to change.

The City appreciates the patience of residents as we work to maintain safe and driveable winter roads, and thanks everyone for their cooperation.
