New Year’s Eve Downtown

The City of Edmonton invites you to ring in 2015 at the 15th annual New Year’s Eve Downtown festival.
This free, fun-filled, non-alcoholic family event will start inside City Hall at 7pm with kids’ crafts and activities, magicians, balloon artists, face painters and live music.
The outdoor fun kicks off at 10pm in Sir Winston Churchill Square with music, ice skating and food concessions. The celebration will be capped off with a spectacular fireworks show at midnight.
Road Closures
To keep everyone safe during the event and fireworks finale, a number of downtown road closures will be in effect on December 31, 2014 until approximately 12:45am on January 1, 2015.

100 Street, from 102 – 102A Avenue
99 Street, from 102 – 102A Avenue

Total closure of:
102 Avenue, from 97 – 99 Street
102 Avenue, from 100 – 101 Street
99 Street, from 101A – 102 Avenue*
100 Street, from 101A – 102 Avenue
* The Citadel Theatre parkade will be closed for both entry and exit at 11pm until 45 minutes after the fireworks. During this time, please use the Stanley A. Milner Library parkade exit at 100 Street.
Parking
Parking is available for $1 after 6pm at the City Hall, Stanley A. Milner Library, City Centre West and Canada Place parkades.
Free New Year’s Eve Public Transit Service
Start your New Year on a safe note – take transit to and from your New Year’s Eve celebrations. ETS free service starts at 6pm on December 31, continuing until 3:30am on January 1.
DATS is free from 6pm on December 31, continuing until 2am on January 1.

Money collected in ETS fare boxes on New Year’s Eve will be given to the DONATE A RIDE campaign.
Note: Route 197 to Spruce Grove, Route 198 to Fort Saskatchewan, Route 199 to Edmonton Garrision, and Route 747 to the Edmonton International Airport are not part of the New Year’s Eve free service.
