An eagle-eyed citizen helped police locate a man who fled while on an escorted outing on May 5, after recognizing him on social media.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. today (May 7, 2015) EPS West Division members responded to a report of a suspicious person at 156 Street and 107 Avenue. A male citizen called police after seeing the suspect on the Edmonton Sun Facebook page just moments earlier.

Justin Caldwell Somers, 29, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for beingunlawfully at large, was arrested shortly after without incident.
