The Northern Alberta Basketball is organizing the 2015 Gilas Basketball Clinic on June 20 to 21 at the Grant MacEwan University City Centre Campus, 10800-104 Avenue.
Head coaches are Mark Dorado and Jon Celeste, who both played for the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (Nait) Ooks.
In an announcement posted by the Philippine Sport Association, the clinic is designed to bring Grades 7 to 12 athletes from the Filipino community together and enjoy the Philippines’ favorite sport.
“We will expose athletes to fundamentals and advanced skills from older Filipino-Canadians who have played at a high level of competitive basketball,” said the organizers.
High school and college coaches were also invited to help in the clinic.
“We hope this clinic will be the first of many other events and clinics that we run for the Filipino community,” added the organizers.
