Minister Nicholson Offers Condolences Following Ferry Capsize in Philippines

The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, yesterday issued the following statement on the capsizing of a ferry near the port of Ormoc City in the Philippines:
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the sinking of a ferry carrying 189 people near a central Philippine port. On behalf of all Canadians, I offer my deepest sympathies to those who have lost friends and family members as a result of this tragic event.
“I also extend my wishes for a swift recovery to those who sustained injuries in this terrible tragedy.”
