Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre reopens on July 8

Edmontonians can once again play, swim, work out and have fun at Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre. The centre reopens to the public on Wednesday, July 8.

The centre has been closed to the public to accommodate the athletic, coaching, and security needs of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015TM. During the closure, maintenance work on the pool, fitness equipment and track was completed.

Edmonton was one of six Canadian cities chosen to host this international sporting event.

Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre offers world-class amenities including a field house, fitness centre, gymnasium and aquatic centre. The centre’s proximity to Commonwealth Stadium advances Edmonton’s ability to attract, and host, international sporting events which enhance Edmonton’s reputation internationally, generates significant revenue for our city, and helps diversify our economy.
