2015 has been an incredible year for artistic, sporting, theatrical and cultural celebration and it isn’t over yet!

Famed as Canada’s great host, Edmonton has earned a global reputation of welcoming the world and organizing major international sports events, such as the FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIBA Americas Women’s Basketball Championship, ITU World Triathlon Series, etc. Equally as world-renowned, Edmonton’s homegrown festivals have attracted millions of festivalgoers, visitors and adventurists to our city – painting our city as ethnically diverse and culturally eclectic and exemplifying what can happen when passion, talent and community spirit collide.

These events bring together our diverse community and give us a reason to gather in friendship and fun, while fostering an appreciation for arts and culture.

  • Edmonton International Street Performers Festival
    July 3-12
    An annual festival occurring for 10 days each July featuring traditional street acts, roving character actors, dancers, mimes, musicians, puppeteers and more!
  • Taste of Edmonton
    July 16-25
    Taste of Edmonton is one of the city’s most popular festivals, with 500,000 people attending it every year. Entering its 31st year, Taste of Edmonton offers a dazzling array of delicious tastes and sounds that fill Sir Winston Churchill Square, reflecting the vitality and dynamism of the city.
  • K-Days
    July 17-26
    Packed with live music, top performances, exhilarating rides and summertime food delights, K-Days brings an exciting, fun-filled summer adventure to Edmonton. Start with experiencing a colourful pageantry of the K-Days Parade in downtown on Friday, July 17 and celebrate the 10-day party with friends and family at Northlands.
  • 40th Annual Heritage Festival
    August 1-3
    2015 marks the 40th annual of the Servus Heritage Festival – a three-day showcase of Canada’s vibrant multicultural heritage. Sixty-two pavilions representing over 85 cultures will be part of this exciting celebration. Enjoy delicious cultural food, wonderful creative performances, lots of crafts, artwork, clothing, and plenty of opportunities to chat with people eager to talk about their cultural roots and their communities in Canada.
  • Edmonton Folk Music Festival
    August 6-9
    Beginning in 1980 with one staff member and 300 volunteers, the Edmonton Folk Music Festival has grown and matured into one of the leading folk festivals in the world. Now boasting a volunteer force of over 2,000, the festival is a not-for-profit society dedicated to bringing in the best of folk music from around the world. Be ready to dance the night away.
  • Cariwest
    August 7-9
    An annual festival occurring for 10 days each July featuring traditional street acts, roving character actors, dancers, mimes, musicians, puppeteers and more!
  • 34th Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival
    August 13 – 23
    Join Fringe Theatre Adventures on a whirlwind adventure this summer as SupercaliFRINGEilistic blows into Old Strathcona for a vibrant, animated 11 days. This year’s Festival will feature enchanting performers, buskers, artisans and vendors that will mesmerize the outdoor crowd while over 1,600 live indoor theatre performances will be hosted by 50 venues or more!
