Share your feedback on the future of the Stadium LRT station area

Residents are invited to an open house to learn more about the planning around the Stadium LRT station and to provide feedback to the City as it drafts a new redevelopment plan for the area.

The new Stadium Station Area Redevelopment Plan will help guide growth and change around the LRT station over the next 15 to 20 years.

One of the major components of the plan will be a ‘main street’ running east-west across the LRT tracks just south of Stadium Station that will extend ongoing revitalization north from The Quarters Downtown. This ‘main street’ will create a gateway through to Jasper Avenue, connecting new and existing housing with the LRT, Commonwealth Stadium, Commonwealth Community Recreation Centre, the river valley and Kinnard Ravine.

Adopting the plan will require amendments to the existing Area Redevelopment Plans that apply to the Boyle Street, Cromdale, Parkdale and McCauley neighbourhoods.

Once a draft plan is ready it will be presented to the public at another open house. Target date for the plan to go to City Council public hearing for adoption is Spring 2016.
