Overnight closure of 170 Street starts on Friday

News Release

Overnight closure of 170 Street at Yellowhead

Starting this Friday, June 23 at 7 p.m., 170 Street between Yellowhead Trail and 122 Avenue will be closed for a concrete deck pour on the 170 Street Bridge. This work is anticipated to be completed by noon on Saturday, June 24.

Drivers can anticipate traffic delays and are advised to detour using 149 Street, 156 Street, and 184 Street/Ray Gibbon Drive. ETS buses and emergency vehicles will be flagged through the closure over the weekend. A full detour map is available here.

Rehabilitation of the southbound 170 Street Bridge over the CN Rail yard began in April 2017 and is expected to be completed this fall. For more information on the project, go to edmonton.ca/170StreetBridge.

The closure is weather dependent and will be rescheduled for the following weekend if necessary. The City thanks drivers for their patience as we complete this necessary concrete work.
