Promotion of Cavite’s coffee industry set on July 12 and 19

GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite (Philippines News Agency) — Series of lectures to promote and revitalize the coffee industry of the province has been set on July 12 and 19 at Barangay Javalera here.
Culinary general and coffee expert chef, Christopher Guado Carangian, will conduct lectures on “What’s Brewing” in partnership with Olivia’s Coffee.
Carangian said the lecture series will provide participants step-by-step approach about coffee starting with basic education to coffee appreciation followed with the business aspect of the industry.
“It’s a win-win situation for both the coffee industry of Cavite – for possible added marketing mileage and clients as well as the students – who take home the skills with them,” said Carangian, adding that knowledge is the key to spur interest in coffee industry.
He said the accompanying Coffee Appreciation module which will be launched during the event to introduce the various coffee variety in the province such as Liberica, Robusta, Excelsia and Arabica that are also found in Amadeo town.
Scheduled classes will last for four hours starting at 2:00 p.m. with a fee to cover for the coffee and snack, ingredients for the workshop and certificate. Basic Barista module is slated on July 12 and Basic Latte Art on July 19.
Olivia Bawag Lansang, owner of Olivia’s Coffee whose main branch is in Amadeo town, shared that her coffee business is a product of hardwork, integrity, honesty and dedication since she started in 1995.
Olivia’s coffee never stops in improving coffee concepts, improving the taste and help in promoting the competitiveness of Philippine coffee in the global market, Lansang said. (PNA)
