The Olympic Games in PyeongChang: Premier Notley

Premier Rachel Notley has issued the following statement in advance of the Olympic Games in PyeongChang:

“Congratulations to the 56 Alberta-based athletes on representing our province as part of the Canadian Olympic Team. You have the incredible honour of displaying your talent and dedication, and showing the world what hard work can accomplish at the PyeongChang Olympic Games.

“Some of the best athletes in Canada live and train here in Alberta, and we are thrilled to see them compete in PyeongChang. Sports are a way of life in our province, and our government works hard to make life better for Albertans, so we are pleased to provide support for these competitors through the Alberta Sport Connection and programs such as Podium Alberta. Your success is a testament to the heights an individual can rise to with families, communities and an entire province behind you.

“All Albertans join me in sending our athletes, coaches and support staff the warmest wishes as you compete in South Korea. We are already so proud of you, and cannot wait to cheer you and your teammates on. Go Canada, go!”
