CALASIAO, Pangasinan (Philippines News Agency) — The Police Regional Office (PRO) in the Ilocos Region announced on Wednesday that a total of 384 incumbent and re-electionist barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials are included in its own narco list.

PRO-1 regional director Chief Supt. Romulo Sapitula said of the total, 69 are vying for barangay chairman post; 304 for barangay kagawad; six for SK chairman and five for SK kagawad from 280 barangays.

In Ilocos Norte, Sapitula said six candidates for barangay chairman and 33 for barangay kagawad have been listed on PRO-1s narco list; while in Ilocos Sur, 10 candidates for barangay chairman; 90 for barangay kagawad; three for SK chairman, and two for SK kagawad.

In La Union, there are 11 candidates for barangay chairman; 19 for barangay kagawad and one for SK chairman also on the list; while in Pangasinan, 42 candidates for barangay chairman; 162 barangay for kagawad; two SK for chairman, and three for SK kagawad, he said.

Sapitula stressed the PRO1s list will still be subjected to further validation before it will be released to the public.

“We do not want to commit mistakes, so there is further validation although the list has already been validated,” he said.

Sapitula urged voters to be keen and observant in electing their barangay officials, and vote only for those worthy of the positions.

“The list is from the people in the community as well, so they know who in their neighborhood is involved in the illegal drug trade,” he said, noting that the list included alleged drug suppliers, users and pushers. (PNA)
