4 buses deployed for Kadayawan ‘free ride’

DAVAO CITY (Philippines News Agency) — The city government on Tuesday deployed four brand new buses for the “Libreng Sakay sa Kadayawan” intended for Dabawenyos and visitors alike who want to visit the activities lined up during the 33rd Kadayawan Festival.

The buses will be available until Aug. 28 and will ply from SM Lanang to SM Ecoland this city, said City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) chief Dionisio Abude.

“What the people need to do is to wait in the designated 16 bus stops from SM Lanang to SM Ecoland. This will be very convenient for the commuters,” Abude said.

The designated bus stops include SM Lanang, Abreeza, Victoria Plaza, Gaisano Mall, Magsaysay Park, Ateneo Roxas, People’s Park, Back of the City hall, St. John Paul II College and SM Ecoland. The buses will ply the route from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. to accommodate Dabawenyos and tourists.

City Tourism Officer Gene Rose Tecson said the free rides hope to attract more tourists to visit the city during the Kadayawan festival.
“Transport system is very vital for a tourist destination. With these four buses, it will give a good impression to the tourists that the city has a good transport system,” Tecson said.

She said the four buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, Wifi and GPS to ensure the safety of the passengers. (PNA)
