ETS detours on 97 Street begin August 6 for LRT construction

News Release
ETS detours on 97 Street begin August 6 for LRT construction

From the start of service on Tuesday, August 6, until approximately Monday, September 2, the 97 Street and 102 Avenue intersection will be closed for TransEd construction of the Valley Line LRT.

The construction will cause ETS to detour routes 3, 14, 100, 109, 161, 162, 308 and 560 off 97 Street. All affected routes, except route 560, will detour onto 95 Street between Jasper Avenue and 103A Avenue (specific detours are available here). Morning trips on route 560 will operate on 100 Street and afternoon trips will operate on 95 Street.

St. Albert Transit routes 201, 207 and 211 will also detour off 97 Street. Customers can find more information about St. Albert Transit detours on their website.

Orange and white detour notices will be installed on posts next to closed bus stops and new temporary stops will be added in advance of the detours. ETS staff will be available at bus stops on 97 Street on Tuesday, August 6, and Wednesday, August 7, to assist passengers in finding their new temporary stops.

During this intersection closure, ETS customers may experience service delays as buses navigate construction sites and manage roadways with increased traffic. This is the final intersection closure in downtown this summer due to TransEd construction.

Transit riders are encouraged to plan their trips in advance, double check their route schedules and use real-time tools. For more information about the detours, visit takeETS.com/news.
